We provide complimentary basic valuation coverage, which compensates customers at a rate of 60 cents per pound per item. This standard protection is included automatically with every move.
To offer greater peace of mind, customers may choose to secure additional moving insurance through a third-party provider. These optional policies offer broader protection and higher coverage limits for valuable or delicate items. Before your scheduled move, we encourage reviewing your insurance needs so you can determine the level of protection that best suits your belongings.
Basic Valuation Coverage: This complimentary coverage provides reimbursement based on an item's weight rather than its monetary value. Customers seeking full-value protection should consider obtaining supplemental insurance independently.
High-Value Items: Certain belongings—such as jewelry, cash, collectibles, watches, and small electronics—are not covered under basic valuation. We strongly recommend transporting these items personally or notifying the lead mover so they can be packaged with extra care.
Flat-Screen TV Policy: For TVs, we require customers to verify and demonstrate that the unit is functioning prior to wrapping. If we cannot confirm operational condition before handling, we cannot assume liability, though our movers will still transport the TV with care.
Damage Reporting: If you believe an item was damaged during your move, please notify us immediately. Prompt reporting allows our team to review the circumstances and determine an appropriate resolution, which may include repair, replacement, or compensation in accordance with your coverage. Additionally, refer to our Terms and Conditions page for specific coverage exclusions.
Certificate of Insurance (COI): Many apartments, condos, and commercial buildings in Santa Monica require a Certificate of Liability Insurance before move day. To issue this document, we coordinate with our insurance provider, and a $100 fee applies per insured building. Please request your COI several days in advance.
